Woodworking plans TV Table

In our efforts to continuously provide valuable and relevant content to woodworkers that use the Wood Crafter app, we’ve begun developing woodworking plans to be included in as many new releases as possible. These plans are available within the app under the “Assemble” tab and are ready for use within the Wood Crafter woodworking app itself or as a printer-friendly .PDF.

To kick things off, we wanted to create a set of plans that would be useful for as many woodworkers as possible. Something that experienced woodworkers could build in a weekend or two, but also something that someone just getting involved in the hobby could use to help push their skills to the next level.

This TV table felt like the perfect fit. It’s a stylish addition to the home, follows traditional methods of joinery and doesn’t cost a ton in materials. The construction process is broken down into sections, guiding you through the steps of creating the end frames, connecting them to form the base, constructing drawers and fitting it with a solid top.

Detailed instructions, measured drawings and 3D renderings make the entire process clear and help you avoid mistakes.

If you’ve never built a piece of furniture, this is a great first project. The Arts & Crafts style lets the wood be the showcase and doesn’t bog you down with ornamental frills. There are quite a few mortise and tenon joints in the construction, but that process is straight-forward, if a little time-consuming when you’re first trying it out. But after a few, you’ll be flying the joinery with no trouble at all.

We built our table from solid cherry, but you can use whatever species you prefer. Browse through the Wood Crafter species library where there are more than 30 wood species detailed to help you with your lumber selection.

We hope you enjoy building this project. If you do, we’d love to see the results. Post them to Instagram or Facebook and be sure to tag us so we don’t miss it.

Meanwhile, we’ll keep developing new project plans, which will be automatically available to you within the app as they are released.
